Dr. Geoffrey O’Loughlin
Geoffrey has presented DRAINS workshops for 20 years (1998-2018). He has extensive experience as a university teacher, researcher and consulting engineer. He has lived mostly in Sydney, obtaining a BE and PhD from the University of New South Wales in 1967 and 1971. He has worked with the Sydney Water Board (1962-67), Sinclair Knight & Partners (1971-75), the University of Technology, Sydney (1975-98) and Rob1inson GRC and Brown Consulting (NSW) (1999 to 2008).
At the University of Technology, Sydney, Geoffrey researched the urban runoff processes, wrote the ILSAX program and taught many subjects and short courses on urban stormwater drainage. He also contributed to several technical societies, notably by co-writing the urban drainage chapter in the Institution of Engineers, Australia’s Australian Rainfall and Runoff, 1987 and the Australian standard on property drainage, AS/NZS 3500.3. He continues to actively support Kustom Engineering with the workshops.
