Dr. Benjamin Kus
Ben, director & founder of Kustom Engineering, joined Dr. Geoffrey O'Loughlin as co-presenter of the DRAINS workshops in 2013 with considerable experience in the areas of urban development, stormwater design, on-site detention and undertaking flood studies. Having worked in both the private and public sector, Ben's experience also extends to water sensitive urban design, water harvesting and filtration, and several other multidisciplinary projects.
Ben has completed a PhD in Engineering - Membrane Technology and Water Harvesting and is a published author with a number of journal papers.
Hossein is an experienced Civil Engineer, who joins Ben as co-presenter for the DRAINS workshops commencing in 2019. Hossein is currently working as a Design Officer at Sutherland Shire Council. He has overseen Floodplain Management projects in liaison with the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) and has also managed several construction projects from tender through to construction.
In his capacity as a consultant, Hossein has been providing services as a Civil/ Hydraulic Engineer to a number of consulting firms since 2007. Hossein’s experience covers roads, drainage, overland flow path studies, and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) projects, from inception to detailed design and construction.
